Just realized I was using the wrong developer all along
Started doing hair in 2019 over in Albany. Always grabbed 30 volume for anything that needed lifting. Thought it was just the standard. Then a stylist I share a booth with told me to check my orange undertones. She said 20 volume with a longer process gives a cleaner lift. I tried it on a client with stubborn level 4 hair. Took an extra 15 minutes but the color came out way more even. Now I only reach for 30 when I absolutely have to. Any other stylists out there stuck in the high volume habit?

My old roommate did the same thing with toner, always hit it with 40 volume and fried her clients' hair before someone finally showed her the 20 volume trick... she still cringes thinking about it.
