Update: my garage door opener started acting weird right after the power company installed a smart meter

Happened last Tuesday around 7 PM. The thing just stopped responding to the remote. Had to use the manual release. Checked the batteries, the sensors, everything. Then I remembered the city crew was here that morning swapping out the old meter for a digital one. My old opener is a Genie from 2010. Works fine for over a decade, then this. I'm not saying it's a conspiracy, but the timing is wild. Makes you wonder if the new signals mess with older electronics. Had to call a guy to look at it, cost me $85 just for the service call. He said it was a 'frequency conflict' but couldn't be sure. Anyone else have gear go haywire after a meter upgrade?

Smart meters are known to mess with old electronics.

Honestly sounds like what charles_wilson said, that's so frustrating.
