I picked the 'official story' over the deep dive on that plane crash and my friends called me crazy
After that cargo plane went down in the Gulf last year, my whole group chat blew up with theories about secret tech or a shoot-down. I had to choose between going down that rabbit hole or just reading the NTSB's initial report. I picked the report. It pointed to a maintenance log issue from two weeks prior and a known sensor fault. Following that boring paper trail made way more sense to me than some shadowy plot. Now they joke I work for 'the man' because I won't entertain the wilder stuff. Anyone else get pushback for just sticking with the basic facts?

I was totally into the MH370 satellite pings conspiracy for years. Then I actually read how the math on those pings works and it's just... regular, boring math. The official report lined up with it perfectly. Felt like a fool for wasting so much time on YouTube videos.

Man, my buddy Dave fell down that same rabbit hole. He printed out satellite maps and had red yarn all over his living room wall, convinced he'd cracked it. Then his engineer cousin sat him down with a calculator and some graphs. Dave said watching the real numbers line up was like the air going out of a balloon. He just quietly took all the yarn down the next day.
