The moment I realized my thermal paste was actually thermal pudding

I was at my desk in my home office in Austin last summer, working on a client's gaming rig. The CPU temps were hitting 95C under load even though I'd just cleaned and repasted it. After two hours of frustration and swapping fans, I noticed the paste I bought off Amazon was this weird, runny consistency. I had stored it in my car during a heatwave. That stuff had completely separated. Had to order Arctic MX-4 from a local shop, did it again, and temps dropped to 72C. Has anyone else had paste go bad from temperature swings?

Had a tube of generic paste do the same thing after leaving it in a garage for a winter. Turned into a gritty mess.
