Update: I was dead set against tool libraries until last Tuesday

I always thought tool libraries would just end up with broken stuff nobody cared about. But I talked to Linda at the Oak Park branch for 10 minutes and she showed me their logbook - over 2000 checkouts with only 3 broken tools in 6 months. She even let me borrow a post hole digger for $5. Anyone else have a moment that totally flipped your opinion on these things?

Right there with you. My whole thing changed when I needed a tile saw for one bathroom project. Buying one was over a hundred bucks. My library had it for $8. Worked fine, no chips or cracks. Stuff like that makes you realize these places aren't a joke.

The post hole digger story sold me too, used one from my library last week and it worked perfectly.
