The lawn mower at the tool library went from rusty nightmare to smooth starter after one volunteer spent 2 hours on it last Saturday.

I grabbed it on Friday and it coughed and died three times, then Joe showed up with some carb cleaner and a new spark plug and now it fires up on the first pull... how many other tools in there could use that kind of rescue that we just ignore?

I borrowed their hedge trimmer last month and it smelled like burnt oil the whole time. Probably just needs a basic cleaning and a new air filter but nobody wants to be the one to fix it. Not sure its that big of a deal though. Most of those tools get the job done even when they run rough. Its a free tool library, not a Snap-on truck.

Honestly @drew_chen I used to be in the same boat, figured a rough-running tool was no big deal. But after borrowing a leaf blower that smoked like crazy, I realized those little issues can turn into a dead tool real fast. You're right it's not a Snap-on truck, but a little maintenance goes a long way.
