PSA: I just wasted $40 on a drill bit set I didn't need

I needed a 1/2 inch masonry bit for a one-time project to hang a shelf. Instead of checking our local tool library first, I rushed out and bought a whole 15-piece set from the hardware store. Our library in Springfield has a whole wall of bits you can borrow for free. Has anyone else done this and then felt silly when they remembered the library was there?

Used to think tool libraries were just for big expensive stuff. Then I borrowed a pipe wrench once and saved myself a trip to the store. Totally changed my mind about checking there first!

Read an article about how these places cut down on waste too... people buy less stuff that just sits around. Makes sense when you only need something once or twice. Pretty smart system actually.
