Just realized our library's $5 late fee for a power washer is actually a genius way to fund new tools, not just a punishment.

I was annoyed when I got charged for returning a pressure washer a day late, but then I saw the new cordless drill set they bought with the collected fees and it clicked for me.

Totally get that. Felt the same way about my community garden plot fee. That extra ten bucks bought everyone new hoses last month. Makes the small penalty feel useful.
