Did hard anodized cookware actually ruin my soup or was it me

I cooked chicken noodle soup in my old stainless pot for years, no issues. Switched to a hard anodized set last month and now my broth tastes metallic. My sister says it's the pot leaching, her husband says I'm just overheating it. Has anyone else noticed a taste difference after switching metals?

Did you season the anodized pot before using it? I had the same metallic taste when I first got mine, and it turned out I was just cooking acidic stuff like tomatoes or lemon in it right away. I ran a test with plain water and a splash of vinegar and it had that weird tinny flavor. Letting the pot build up a little oil coating from cooking non-acidic stuff first helped fix it for me.

Seriously, cooking a batch of plain rice first got rid of that weird metallic taste for me too.
