Appreciation post: I finally got our neighborhood group to stop arguing by making a simple rule change
Our HOA forum was a mess, with people fighting over everything from trash cans to paint colors for 6 months. I suggested we move all complaints to a single weekly thread and keep the main page for solutions and help. Has your community tried something like this to cut down on the noise?

Read about a similar trick for a local Facebook group.

That Facebook group trick is probably a terrible idea. Those local groups are full of people who just want to argue and cause drama. It would backfire and make everyone mad at you. Trying to control what people see never works out the way you plan. You are better off just leaving things alone and not trying to be sneaky.
