The tender on the Sabine Pass job said my bailout bottle was 3 minutes short, and I can't stop doing the math
I was rigging up for a shallow inspection job near Sabine Pass last week when the tender looked at my bailout and said it only had 3 minutes in it, not the 5 I always figured. I've been running that same 19 cf bottle for years without ever timing it on the surface, just going off what the older guys handed down. How are you all figuring your actual bailout time, do you run a real flow test on it or just trust the numbers on the cylinder?
Waited years trusting a hand me down number without ever timing it? That is nuts, because 19 cf at a real working rate can burn way faster than guys think once you add stress and current. Do a flow test in the water with your actual reg, then you know your real minutes instead of guessing off the stamp on the tank.
