TIL bagging and boarding my floppies in the wrong order cost me a $40 back issue of Saga #1
Found out at the shop in Portland after 8 months of storing them board-first that the tape was pressing lines into the covers, so now I slide the board in from the back and the bag protects everything.

Did you try sliding the board in so the slick side faces the back of the comic? That's what saved my copies after I made the same mistake, the tape never touches the cover once the bag flap is behind the board.
