Remember when an old-timer at the shop in Milwaukee told me my coolant mix looked like 'weak tea' and I was just burning through tools?

I started checking the concentration with a refractometer every Monday morning, and my insert life went up by like 30% almost immediately, so what's one piece of simple advice that actually saved your butt?

Honestly, mine was about just cleaning the machine way more often. I was so focused on the cut itself that I let chips pile up everywhere. An old foreman saw it and just said "You like swimming in garbage?" Felt like an idiot, but a clean machine runs better and you spot problems way faster. Now it's the last thing I do before I head out.

Check the coolant lines too, they clog up fast.
