Heard a guy at the shop say he runs his coolant at 8% for aluminum, not 10%

I was cleaning up around the old VF-2 yesterday and overheard one of the senior guys telling a new hire. He said for the 6061 parts we run, 8% gives better finish and less sticky residue on the parts. I tried it this morning on a small run of brackets and the parts came out cleaner, less gummy. Anyone else tweak their mix for different materials?

Yeah, I dropped to 7% on my 7075 runs and the chips stopped clumping up.

Wonder if that changes the coolant's rust protection at all.
