Electric cargo bike vs. my old minivan for school pickup, the numbers surprised me

I live in Austin and my drive to my kids' school is only 2 miles but I was idling in line for 25 minutes every afternoon. So last month I rented a Rad cargo bike for a week to test it out. I figured the rain or heat would kill it, but honestly I only used my van twice that whole time. The bike meant getting there 10 minutes early, loading 2 kids plus backpacks, and being home before my van would have even left the pickup loop. Has anyone else swapped a car for a cargo bike for the daily grind and what did you do about the hot summer months?
