Saw a chimney cap in a museum exhibit on Victorian London
I was at the history museum in Springfield and they had a whole display on 19th century trades. Right there next to the blacksmith tools was a soot-covered Victorian chimney sweep's cap, complete with a little brush. It was weird seeing our gear behind glass. Anyone else run into our history in a random place?

Wait, they had the actual cap on display? That's wild. I saw a similar thing at a county fair once, but it was just a replica next to some old photos. Seeing the real, dirty thing in a museum must be so strange. Makes you think about all the hands that wore it. Kinda gives me chills, honestly.

Wasn't that actually a climbing boy's cap? The sweeps themselves didn't usually wear those.
