My cousin got so sick from a cookout last summer, they had to go to the ER. The doctor said it was definitely from cross contamination like that. It takes so little effort to just wash your hands, but the results of skipping it can be really serious. People forget that you can't see the germs, so they act like it's not a real problem.

Totally agree. It's like leaving your front door wide open and then acting shocked when stuff gets stolen. Some people just love to test the limits, whether it's trusting the wrong person or ignoring basic safety rules. They never believe it'll happen to them until it actually does. Then suddenly it's a big mystery why everything went wrong.
