Hot take: your knife sharpener is probably ruining your edge.

I used one of those pull-through sharpeners for like 3 years. Thought my knives were sharp. Then I worked a prep shift at a place in Portland where the CDC demanded I use a whetstone. First time I actually cut a tomato without squashing it I felt like an idiot. Anyone else ditch the cheap sharpeners late in the game?

My buddy used those pull-through things for years until he borrowed his neighbor's whetstone and literally cut himself because he wasn't used to a blade that sharp. He threw his old sharpener in the trash that same day.
