TIL using a laser level changed my pattern matching forever

Honestly, for years I eyeballed seam lines with a chalk line and prayed. Then last month on a job in Tacoma, a buddy let me borrow his laser level and it cut my pattern matching time in half. Ngl, I thought lasers were for cabinet guys, but now I won't run a patterned carpet without one. Has anyone else made the switch and found it messes with their old habits?

Ha, that's wild timing. I literally just watched a YouTube video where a flooring guy was saying the same thing, how he used to trust his eye and a chalk line for years until a laser showed him how crooked his "straight" lines actually were. It's funny how you can get so stuck in your old way of doing things, you know? I bet once you go laser, going back to the chalk line feels like working blind.
