Rant: my $300 power stretcher rental was a complete money pit
Last month I had a big living room job in Austin and decided to rent a power stretcher from the big box store instead of borrowing my buddy's like I usually do. Paid $85 a day plus a $200 deposit and it took me four days because the damn thing kept slipping on the carpet and I had to re-stretch three sections twice. The rental guy never mentioned the floor type matters, and my knee kicker actually worked better on that fluffy pile. Has anyone else had better luck with a specific brand of stretcher plates for high-pile carpet, or am I just cursed with rentals?
