I always knee-kicked everything, even big rooms. Last month I had a 20 by 30 foot living room in Toledo and the padding had these weird high spots. My knees were shot after the first hallway. Finally busted out the power stretcher my uncle gave me and actually read the instructions on the head adjustment. Took me an extra 40 minutes to set it up right, but the carpet laid down flat with zero ripples. I used to think power stretchers were only for tricky stairs or commercial stuff. Now I set it up for any room over 15 feet. Makes me wonder how many jobs I did slower than I had to. Has anyone else switched late in the game and wished they did it earlier?
