My jigsaw blade turned into a dangerous whip at the job site in Dallas last Tuesday

I was cutting some 3/4 inch plywood for a cabinet job and the blade just snapped. The piece that broke off flew right past my face and hit the wall. That got me thinking about how often we push cheap blades way past their limit. Has anyone else had a close call with a blade that should have been swapped out sooner?

Saw a safety guy on a podcast say cheap blades are basically throwing darts blindfolded. Glad you dodged that one.

$4 blades, what's the specific failure point he mentioned - edge chipping or total snap?
