Just switched to a 20-degree framing nailer for sheathing and it's a game changer
Honestly, I used a 30-degree gun for everything for like 8 years, even on roof decks and wall sheathing. Switched to a 20-degree Hitachi about 6 months ago after a buddy in Charlotte swore by it, and the lower angle lets me get into way tighter corners without banging the magazine. It's also way easier to carry up a ladder since it's more compact. Anyone else made a switch like that and found it actually mattered?

It's funny how a small change in gear can make such a big difference. I see this all the time with people who finally get the right tool for a specific job, like using a stubby screwdriver in an electrical box. You just stop fighting the work.

My buddy in Charlotte got me using a 20-degree nailer for sheathing last year and it was the same deal. I mean, it's just a different angle on the magazine, but it changes the whole job. I see it with kitchen knives too, using a cheap paring knife for years then getting one that actually fits your hand right. You don't realize how much you're fighting your tools until you try the right one.
