In 2019 my boss said a resume should fit one page, now the same guy tells hires to send a portfolio link instead
I kept the same resume for 8 years and got nothing back, then I added a link to a simple site with 3 work samples in January and had 2 callbacks within a week, so I want to ask if anyone else has seen the paper resume lose its power this fast.
Man, that hits close to home. I sent out the same boring PDF for like two years and got maybe one call, then I threw together a free site with a few screenshots of stuff I'd done and suddenly people were actually emailing me back. It's wild how fast things flipped, feels like paper resumes just sit in some black hole now unless a real person happens to pick it up. Sorry you burned 8 years on that, but glad the link thing finally got you some calls.
