I miss the days of cold calling with actual phone books
Back in 2012 I used to sit down with a thick yellow pages and just dial through HVAC companies in my area. Now everything is LinkedIn messages and automated email sequences that get ignored immediately. I actually closed more deals back then because people respected the hustle. Anyone else feel like old school methods still work better for certain industries?

Phone books at least proved someone was actually running a business lol.

Read a study last year that said cold calling still works way better than email for local service businesses like HVAC and plumbing. Something about the phone being more personal I guess. People answer their phones way more than they open cold emails. I tried it myself last month with a list from the chamber of commerce and got three appointments out of fifteen calls. Not bad for an hour of work.
