My buddy said tape ruins cardboard forts, but I've always used it.

He was arguing that tape makes the structure too rigid and less stable in the long run, while I figure it holds everything together tight. Now I'm not sure if I should go full folding method or keep relying on duct tape for my next build - what do you all do?

My third kid went through a whole "fort phase" last winter, and I tried both methods out of desperation (you just run out of tape, you know?). The folding method actually held up better for multi-day builds since it lets the cardboard flex a little without collapsing. I feel for you though, it's a frustrating debate when you're just trying to make a cool fort for the kids.

I always swore by taping but that makes a lot of sense.
