Hit 100 canceled plans in my notebook and it felt weirdly good
I started jotting down every canceled plan last January in a cheap spiral notebook, mostly to stop feeling bad about flaking. This weekend I counted the entries and there were exactly 100, from a rained-out picnic in Portland to a dentist appointment that got rescheduled twice. Has anyone else turned their canceled plans into some kind of log, and did it change how you saw the free time that came after?
Does the notebook say anything about why each plan got canceled, or just the date and what it was? Adding a quick note about whether you were relieved or bummed could turn it into a real record of what you actually wanted to do versus what you said yes to out of habit. After 100 entries you'd probably see a clear pattern, like the plans you kept are the ones with people you genuinely like. The free time feels better once you can see you chose it on purpose.
