Pro tip: Listen to the office manager, not the homeowner's promises
Last Tuesday in Phoenix I had a homeowner swear up and down that the coax was already run to the far bedroom. His office manager, Sarah, quietly handed me a flashlight and said "check the crawlspace first." Sure enough, the wire stopped at the living room wall, so I had to drill and fish a new line through 40 feet of attic. Sarah saved me from an hour of pulling my hair out. Anyone else have an office assistant who actually knows the real layout better than the owner?

Who's really running the show around there, the homeowner or Sarah?

Same thing happens in my own house with my wife and our contractor every time we need work done. @xena_murphy you hit on something real there. You got the person paying the bills on one side and the person who actually knows how to get the job done on the other. It's like when you're getting your car fixed too - you can tell the mechanic what you want but they're the ones who know if it'll actually hold up. Usually Sarah ends up running things behind the scenes because she's the one with the hands on experience.
