Soft-close hinges get all the praise, but I switched back to standard after 2 years in my own shop
I installed soft-close on every cabinet I built for clients since 2021, then put them in my own kitchen last March and found they add a dead feel to solid wood doors plus they fail faster when dust gets in the mechanism. Am I the only one who thinks the old spring-loaded slam is actually better for heavy raised-panel doors in a workshop setting?
