Question about a $500 software subscription I forgot to cancel
I let a project management tool auto-renew for a whole year (which I wasn't even using anymore) because I missed the email reminder in my junk folder, so now I'm out that cash for basically nothing.

That junk folder trick is a classic move by these companies. I set a calendar reminder for a month before any subscription renews because I don't trust their emails at all. Honestly, for a $500 hit, it's worth a quick email to their support to ask for a refund, the worst they can say is no. Letting it auto-renew on a credit card is just asking for this to happen again next year.
