Used to spend an hour on monthly spreads, now I just wing it

Back in 2022 I was that person with color coded monthly calendars and washi tape dividers. My October spread took like 45 minutes and I barely touched it after day 3. Last week I just grabbed a pen and wrote "Nov - work stuff" at the top of a blank page and called it good. Way more useful honestly. Anybody else find that simpler layouts actually get used more?

Yeah barely touched it after day 3" - that hit close to home. I used to spend Sunday nights making these intricate spreads with goal trackers and mood logs. By Wednesday they were just pretty backgrounds for my coffee mug rings. Now I just draw a line down the middle of a page, label one side "have to" and the other "want to", and fill it in as I go. Somehow that scrawled list gets checked off way more than my color coded masterpieces ever did.

High key truth right here, messy lists actually get done.
