The index key I use for collections finally clicked after 3 tries
I kept seeing people rave about their index keys but mine always felt messy. So I copied a layout from a random Pinterest post, stripped it down to just 4 symbols, and it worked. First time I flipped back to find a recipe spread from 4 weeks ago in under 10 seconds. How long did it take your index setup to feel natural?

The real game changer for me was ditching the idea that the index has to match the "vibe" of the collection. I spent way too long trying to make it pretty or clever, and it just got in the way. Now I use raw numbers for dates and a single color for anything that's a task, not a memory. Once I stopped treating it like a decoration and started treating it like a GPS, it clicked. The weird part is that the less personal it feels, the more I actually trust it. Did you find that the stripped down version feels almost boring but works better?
