My habit tracker ended up tracking my cat instead
I set up a bullet journal spread to track my daily meditation, but my cat kept walking across the open page and leaving paw prints in all the boxes. After three days I realized I was logging 'cat walked on page' more than actual meditation sessions. Has anyone else had a pet completely hijack their tracker setup?

Okay quoting "cat walked on page" like that is gold, honestly. But I gotta ask - are you absolutely sure the paw prints aren't a better measure of mindfulness than a checkmark anyway? Like maybe your cat was trying to tell you that sitting still for five minutes while a tiny predator stomps around IS meditation in a weird way. What was the final tally on cat walks vs. meditations?

Wait did anyone catch that This American Life episode where they talked about how cats basically trick us into meditating by demanding our full attention at random times? I swear, I was listening to it in the car and they had this behaviorist dude explaining how cats evolved to make us sit still and watch them because that's how they feel safe. So your cat stomping on your meditation page? That could actually be her way of making sure you're calm and paying attention to her, which is basically the same brain state as mindfulness. Anyway, I ended up tallying 23 cat walks vs 14 meditations last month, but honestly the days when she walked across my journal were the days I felt most present so maybe she's onto something.
