I think the whole "just use one notebook" rule is way overrated

A few weeks ago I read a post saying you should keep everything in a single journal for continuity. But I run my landscaping business and need separate books for clients, personal tasks, and long-term projects. Trying to cram it all into one made me miss a quote deadline last month. Has anyone else found that having multiple notebooks works better for them?

Seems like every hobby or job out there has its own "one rule to rule them all" that doesn't fit real life.

Three books works way better for me too. @drew_thomas9 nailed it - those one-size-fits-all rules never hold up in real life. I keep a field book for job site notes, a separate binder for client quotes, and a pocket notebook for random ideas that pop up.
