Question about stretching ground beef with lentils

My buddy tried this once and his kids didn't even notice. He said it worked fine in tacos but the texture was kinda weird in meatloaf.

Man I hear you but is it really that deep? Kids eat ketchup on everything and barely look at their food half the time. Unless your buddy's kids are professional food critics I doubt they're doing a texture analysis on Tuesday night meatloaf.
