Appreciation post for my switch from bulk buying to weekly shops
Smaller grocery trips cut waste and save more cash.

I used to make big Costco runs every two weeks thinking it was smarter. My fridge would end up with half a bag of slimy spinach and cheese that went moldy before we finished it. Switching to weekly trips to my neighborhood Safeway completely changed that. Now I only buy what fits in one reusable bag, and I probably throw out 75% less food. The weirdest part is I spend less overall because I'm not tempted by bulk deals on things we don't really need.

My local Trader Joe's has noticeably fewer overflowing carts on weekends now. It's part of a shift I see where people are focusing on fresh food over stockpiling. I save about $50 a month just from not buying extras that go bad. The whole rhythm of my kitchen feels more intentional now.

Honestly, I wonder if some of this is about reclaiming time. Less stuff in the cart means less to put away and manage later. That mental space feels just as good as the saved money.
