I lost 6 hours of progress in Stardew Valley because of one dumb autosave bug and I need people to know
So last Tuesday I sat down around 7pm to play Stardew Valley on my Switch, which I've put about 120 hours into over the past couple months. I was on Fall day 14 of year 2, right in the middle of a big push to finish the community center before winter, and I had just caught the last fish I needed for the bundle. I played for about 4 hours straight, watering crops, mining in the skull cavern, the usual. Then around 11pm my game froze for like 5 seconds during a cutscene at the saloon and just closed itself to the home screen. When I opened it back up, my save was from 6 hours earlier, before I'd even caught the fish. Turns out the game only saves when you sleep, so if it crashes mid day you lose everything since your last in game night. I just sat there staring at the screen honestly kind of stunned. Has anyone else run into this on Switch specifically, and is there any way to force a save or back up my file so this does not happen again?
