Spent a whole morning trying to get a single brick level
It was a weird corner on a porch rebuild in Springfield, and the foundation had settled just enough to make it a nightmare. I must have picked that brick up and put it down a dozen times before I got it right. Anyone else ever get stuck on something that should have been simple?

My buddy spent an entire weekend trying to hang a single interior door that just wouldn't sit right in the frame. The house had shifted and nothing was square anymore. He said it was the most frustrating simple job he'd ever done.

My uncle's old house in Toledo was like that, nothing was ever square. It's funny how the simplest tasks turn into a whole project when the basics are off. I see it with @max_foster's door story too, where a house settling changes everything. It makes you wonder how many weekend plans get wrecked by a single stubborn thing that just won't line up. Do you find yourself budgeting double the time for stuff like that now?
