Unpopular opinion: our club stopped picking a leader every month and it fixed us
Back in January our club of 9 argued for an hour about whose turn it was to lead the discussion, so we switched to whoever finished the book first picks the next one, and honestly the meetings got way better.

The "whoever finishes the book first picks the next one" rule is lowkey genius because it turns the boring part into a race. Bet your meetings got more fun too since people actually want to finish now.
