Debate night flip flopper, audio book won me over on slow burn fantasy

I used to trash audio books hard, said they weren't real reading. Our club picked a 700 page slow burn fantasy last month and I was dreading it. My buddy Jake said try the audiobook at 1.5x speed while doing dishes, just for one chapter. Three days later I'd finished the whole thing and actually loved the pacing. The narrator's voice made the quiet character moments land way better than my own inner monologue. Now I'm pushing for us to do a dual format discussion next pick. Anyone else have strong opinions flip after trying a different format?
