Dropped $40 on a board game insert and it saved my group from quitting
Three months ago my group almost stopped meeting because setup for our campaign game took 25 minutes every time. People were showing up late and leaving early just to avoid the sorting. I finally caved and paid $40 for a custom foam insert from a guy on Etsy, which felt dumb for what is basically fancy cardboard. The first night we played, setup dropped to under 5 minutes and we got two full rounds in instead of one. My buddy Dave, who never helps with setup, actually started doing it himself because it was so easy. The insert also fixed a bigger problem, which was that we kept losing tokens under the table and in the couch cushions. Now everything has a slot and nothing gets mixed up between games. Has anyone else paid real money for storage and felt weird about it at first?
My buddy Marcus dropped $60 on a laser cut insert for Gloomhaven and his wife gave him crap for a week. Two months later she bought one for their Terraforming Mars setup because she got tired of hunting down cubes.
