My phone survived 14 hours in airplane mode, but I broke after 12

I tried doing a full digital detox last Saturday because my scrolling was out of control. I locked my phone in a kitchen drawer at 8am and made it until about 8pm when I got this weird itch to check if anyone replied to a group chat about a hiking trip. Fished it out, spent 2 hours on it, and felt terrible. The whole point was to reset my habits, but the anxiety of missing something got me first. Has anyone found a way to ease into longer blocks, or is cold turkey just not for some people?
