My sister said my gallery wall looked like a yard sale, and she was right
I had 11 frames up in my hallway, all different sizes and colors, and I thought it looked collected. My sister stood there for maybe 10 seconds and said it looked like a yard sale threw up on the wall. I took everything down that weekend, painted all the frames the same matte black, and kept just 5 pieces with white mats. The wall reads way calmer now and people actually stop to look at the photos instead of scanning past. Has anyone else cut way down on their gallery wall and liked it more, or did you go the other way and add even more?

My buddy Dave hung 30 frames in his stairwell and his wife made him take half down that same night.
