Breaking Bad is overrated and I'll die on that hill

I finally sat down last month to watch Breaking Bad because EVERYONE swears it's the greatest show ever. I made it through 3 seasons and I just don't get the hype. The pacing is SO slow, I kept checking my phone waiting for something to happen. My buddy at work kept saying "just wait until season 4" but I'm not gonna invest 40 more hours hoping it gets good. The worst moment was episode 8 of season 2 where nothing happens for like 45 minutes straight except Walt staring at a fly. I switched over to Ozark instead and finished all 4 seasons in 10 days because that show actually moves. Has anyone else felt completely let down by a show everyone calls a masterpiece?

Oh buddy, you gotta get your seasons mixed up. That fly episode is actually season 3, episode 10, not season 2. And it's a bottle episode, meaning they filmed it cheap to save money for bigger episodes later. I'm not gonna defend that episode because I almost turned it off too, but it's one episode out of 62. The real issue is you quit right before the show actually becomes what everyone talks about. Season 4 is when everything snaps into place. But look, if you liked Ozark better, that's fine. Different strokes for different folks. Just wanted to clear up which season that fly was in.
