New bike lane on 5th Ave downtown last month vs the old one - huge difference

I rode the newly painted bike lane on 5th Avenue last week and it's way wider with actual curb protection, but the old one from three years ago was just a painted line that cars ignored constantly. Anyone else seeing way more enforcement or is it just my city finally getting its act together?

Can't believe they actually put in curb protection after years of just pretending painted lines worked.

Totally agree @barbara_butler, painted lines are basically just suggestions around here. Our city did the same thing on Main Street last summer and it's night and day how many more people actually use the lane now. Feels like they finally realized drivers don't care about paint at all.
