My rear rack bolt snapped on the bridge commute and a stranger with a zip tie saved my whole morning
The bolt holding my rear rack sheared off right as I hit the Hawthorne Bridge ramp at 7:40 this morning, sending my pannier swinging into my spokes. A guy in a yellow rain jacket stopped, dug a zip tie out of his frame bag, and strapped the rack to my seat stay so I could limp the last four miles. Anyone keep a spare bolt kit in their bag, or am I just rolling the dice every ride?
