The one morning my chain snapped and I still made it in 20 minutes early
My bike chain literally exploded halfway up that steep hill near the railroad tracks, but I managed to coast into a bike shop three blocks away and the mechanic had a spare chain that fit perfectly. Has anyone else had a mechanical failure that somehow worked out better than if nothing had gone wrong?

Had a pedal snap off on a downhill once... coasted straight into a free coffee shop.
