My old bike shop guy in Portland told me to stop riding so hard to work, took me 2 years to get it
I ran into Ray at his shop on SE Division last week, he sold me my first commuter back in 2019 and he asked why I still show up to the office looking wrecked. He pointed out that I was treating my ride like a race instead of a commute, and that slowing down by maybe 3 mph means way less sweat and I barely lose any time. I tried it for a week and he was right, plus I stopped needing a full shirt change. Has anyone else had to basically relearn how to ride slow after years of going all out?
