TIL ceramic disc brakes actually need a specific bedding-in process, not just hard stops

After six months of noisy stopping on my gravel bike, I watched a Park Tool video about brake burnishing and my rotors look silver and quiet now, has anyone else had to unlearn their old pad habits for this newfangled disc stuff?

Most people think you can just ride around and they'll sort themselves out. The crazy part is the manufacturers actually have a specific procedure and if you skip it you get that pulsing or squealing forever.

Yeah I thought brakes just needed to be worn in but turns out I was doing it wrong this whole time.
