Took me 3 years to figure out why my brisket stall was so long

Turns out I was opening the smoker every 20 minutes to peek and losing all the heat. Last month at a comp in Austin, a judge casually asked if I was 'running a bread box' and it just clicked. Anyone else kill their stall by watching too much?

Oh man, I feel this so hard. Honestly, I once ruined a whole pork butt because I kept opening the lid 'just to check' and my kids kept asking me what I was doing every time I ran outside. Tbh, I think I was more nervous than the meat. Last time I smoked, I put a piece of tape over the window so I'd stop staring at it like it was a TV show. My neighbor finally asked if I was 'babysitting' the smoker and I had to admit I basically was. Ngl, I still catch myself peeking sometimes, but now I set a timer on my phone just to stand there and do nothing but smell the air.
